RYA DINGHY INSTRUCTOR

This course is for the experienced dinghy sailor who would like to teach sailing in a club or outdoor centre. During the course you will learn: how to teach sailing via the RYA teaching method, a variety of instructing techniques, and how to prepare and present sessions ashore and afloat. The course also looks at the use of powerboats in the teaching environment and how to assess students. Our course this Spring is run over a five day block. The cost of the course is £350 non residential.

 

Pre-requisites are as follows:

  • Pre-entry Sailing Assessment  - sailing to correct standard

  • RYA Powerboat level 2

  • Relevant First Aid certificate  (RYA or one recognised by HSE, minimum 6 hours)

  • Minimum age 16 years old

  • Up to date RYA membership

The course is non-residential, although B&B and youth hostel accommodation is available nearby.  Collection and drop off at Ulverston train station may be possible.
