RYA ADVANCED INSTRUCTOR
The advanced instructor is an experienced instructor with a wide background of sailing experience who has been trained to teach the Performance Sailing and Sailing with Spinnakers courses.
This is a two-day course covering the teaching of boat handling, the use of spinnakers and 5 essentials, coaching to the required standard, as well as powerboat driving.
Assessment:
Candidates will be assessed on a continuous basis afloat and ashore by running sessions and delivering theory topics. All candidates need to come prepared to run any session from the Performance Sailing and Sailing with Spinnakers syllabus.
Pre-requisites:

Candidates must hold a valid RYA instructor certificate and will usually have recorded at least one season's experience of teaching sailing since qualifying.

Candidates will be skilled to at least the level of the Performance Sailing and Sailing with Spinnakers courses and should have previous powerboat handling experience in a teaching environment.

The course is non-residential, although youth hostel accommodation is available nearby. Collection and drop off at Ulverston train station may be possible. The cost of the course is £185 non residential.
